Defence IQ is delighted to announce its 7th CBRN conference, set to take place between 29th-30th March 2011.

Speakers Include:

Detect. Respond. Recover.

With global terror alert levels consistently high, CBRN Resilience, response and recovery equipment and processes must continue to meet requirements for the worst case scenario. Inter-agency cooperation is central to the success of these three tenets and Defence IQ's CBRN 2011 will enable you to network with peers and cooperative planners from at home and abroad.

The UK government’s CBRN Strategy is “to ensure that the UK is capable of responding quickly and effectively to deal with and recover from the consequences of CBRN incidents”

Are you 100% confident that you have all the information needed so that you are ready to respond effectively when a CBRN incident occurs?

CBRN 2011 promises a well balanced speaker panel comprising of senior experts, blue light/first responders and military personnel. The agenda will address key developments in the fields of both response and recovery and the framework of the event will provide a forum for sharing experiences, best practises and ideas to ensure resilience capabilities are enhanced and readiness is maximised. Training and interoperability will also be key focuses in this, the important period of the build-up to the 2012 Olympics.

If you have the experience, knowledge and ability to speak on what you believe to be a fundamental issue relating to Air Mission Planning, please contact the programme manager using the details below to see how you can help to shape the issues covered:

Brief Event Description

  • The event focuses on maximising “preparedness” for a Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear incident/attack.
  • The first 10 hours of such an attack is considered vital to minimising the damage inflicted.
  • During this time it is mostly first responders that deal with the incident and these include; Police, Ambulance and Fire Services.
  • Protective measures must be put in place to prevent contamination;
HAZMAT suits and masks, HAZMAT vehicles and shelter.

CBRN 2011 will focus on the following issues:

  • The importance of improving interoperability, in technology, communication and working culture
  • Serious analysis of UK CBRN training and the importance of a model that ensures inter-agency coordination and effective response
  • Answering questions and offer lessons learned with regard to training and interoperability
  • The role of the military and of business in ensuring UK Resilience and Business Continuity
  • Challenges faced by the CBRN community and Blue Light responders in ensuring continued UK Resilience

So who can you expect to meet at the meeting?

Now in it’s 7th year, CBRN Resilience 2011 will once again bring together key stakeholders in the CBRN community. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for sharing experiences, best practises and ideas to ensure resilience capabilities are enhanced and readiness is maximised.
