Due to unforeseen circumstances, we regret to announce the postponement of Defence IQ’s CBRN Resilience event until January 2011.

We would like to thank our speakers and many long-time delegates for their understanding and look forward to seeing them all in January.

CBRN Resilience 2010 Speaker Panel Includes:

Improving inter-agency cooperation to enhance capabilities and maximise readiness

The UK government’s CBRN Strategy is “to ensure that the UK is capable of responding quickly and effectively to deal with a recover from the consequences of CBRN incidents”

Are you 100% confident that you have all the information needed so that you are ready to respond effectively when a CBRN incident occurs?

CBRN Resilience 2010 will benefit from both high level policy briefings and from first responder presentations and will deliver you the information you need to improve your CBRN resilience capability.

This will allow you to work with your Multi-Agency Partners in the development of solutions that are compatible and support swift and effective response to a CBRN incident in a time of budgetary restraint.

Brief Event Description

  • The event focuses on maximising “preparedness” for a Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear incident/attack.
  • The first 10 hours of such an attack is considered vital to minimising the damage inflicted.
  • During this time it is mostly first responders that deal with the incident and these include; Police, Ambulance and Fire Services.
  • Protective measures must be put in place to prevent contamination;
HAZMAT suits and masks, HAZMAT vehicles and shelter.

CBRN 2010 will focus on the following issues:

  • The importance of improving interoperability, in technology, communication and working culture
  • Serious analysis of UK CBRN training and the importance of a model that ensures inter-agency coordination and effective response
  • Answering questions and offer lessons learned with regard to training and interoperability
  • Offer updates from government offices including the Civil Contingencies Secretariat, the Dept of Health, the Dept. for Communities and Local Government
  • The role of the military and of business in ensuring UK Resilience and Business Continuity
  • Challenges faced by the CBRN community and Blue Light responders in ensuring continued UK Resilience

Now in it’s 7th year, CBRN Resilience 2010 will once again bring together key stakeholders in the CBRN community.
